Workshop Leaders at the Buttermilk Jamboree Folk School
All interested Workshop Leaders MUST fill out an online application to be considered.
The deadline for submitting your application is March 31st.
The Folk School Advisory Committee will review applications for the folk school in the early spring. You will be contacted if your workshops are selected for scheduling. Please respond promptly upon contact to reserve your spot. If we are unable to make arrangements with you for your workshops we will select another in place of yours.
Our workshops typically run an hour in length but it is possible to have a workshop of longer length. In some cases it may be appropriate to offer the same workshop twice during the weekend, or have a part 1 and a part 2. It is preferable that a volunteer in the folk school offer two workshops over the course of the weekend, but the advisory committee will consider applications for single workshops. The exchange for this type of offering will be worked out on a case by case basis. Please specify that the advisory committee consider this on your application under the additional comments and/or concerns section.
In exchange for your time and expertise you will receive:
-one weekend admission wrist band, and
-meal vouchers
Workshop leaders with small children may request wrist bands for their children (not guests) in lieu of meal tickets. Your adult admission wrist band allows you to camp onsite for the weekend. If your workshops are selected and scheduled your ticket packet will be held for you at the performer’s gate the weekend of the festival. If you miss, or are late to teach, your workshop it may affect any future volunteer application you submit for the Buttermilk Jamboree.
Workshops that require reimbursement for pre-approved supply expenses will be reimbursed in the weeks after the festival and will require that you mail original receipts to Circle Pines Center 8650 Mullen Road Delton, MI 49046. Attention to Buttermilk Folk School. Receipts for reimbursement will not be accepted prior to or during the festival unless previously arranged.
Submissions will be accepted for the 2019 festival beginning January 2019.
